Summer Progress – UN.C. North America

I said I was going to do it and I reached over 50%, so in respect to my own rule, I will now divulge my progress into the UN.C. North America Division spin off of the Resonance Saga.  The book takes place place between the events of Steel Soldier and Berlin Djinn, AKA books 2 and 3 of the Resonance Saga.  I’m putting extra time and effort into making this book longer than than the standard previously seen.  Right now, given the pacing, I’m looking at about 20,000 words, give or take.  It’s a different story, in some ways less serious than the Resonance Saga, but with fewer puns.

I’m happy to say that I’ve both beaten and broken my previous word count limit, now writing about 1,000 words per day minimum, which is necessary in order to crank this out in one month’s time.  If I keep this up, a 3,000 word short fiction won’t even phase me, which will be awesome.  For some reason though, I still have trouble writing more than one chapter in a day, though I’m getting close to breaking that limit as well.

A final note, I’ve been reading Steelheart, by Brandon Sanderson and I find that his writing style resonates with my own very much.  I’m taking some pointers from his lectures and writing style and I believe this title will be out sometime this month.
