With the completion of book five in the Resonance Saga, Magnanimous can rest. I don’t think Miles Emmerson will star in another story, though there will be others, new heroes to take up the mantle in his wake. However, this marks the end of an era.
I looked back at my work and saw how much my words had changed over the last year and a half of writing. Miles Emmerson began his story in late 2014 and it wasn’t until March of this year that I’d finally capped off the series, though I had written a number of side arcs and non-superhero stories during the process, so I’d say it turned out well.
I’ve learned that superhero fiction remains a very tight niche, relatively unaccounted for on most sites, though its popularity is growing. The Resonance Saga sells pretty well on Amazon. Most of my books are registered as Urban Fantasy, the catch-all for modern day fantasy in cities, though when I am allowed, I do put them down as superhero fiction. Some sites allow that, though not many.
Most of my future superhero works will take place in the same universe as the Resonance Saga, though I do want to write something of a miniseries in pure science fiction. I’d dabbled in it before, but nothing stuck long enough to make something out of it. I’ll let you know in the future if I do, though admittedly, you’ll likely hear about it half way through. I don’t do well when I share the core mechanic too early.
